Patna 28th October 2020 Wednesday

Voting for the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections began peacefully this morning. The fate of 71 seats in 16 districts was being decided today. Long queues were seen outside polling stations despite the cold snap.

A total of 1066 candidates were contesting for 71 seats. A total of 2.14 crore voters are casting their votes in today's polls. Polling was delayed from the beginning today. Voting started late at some centers in Munger's Tarapur polling station due to a faulty electronic voting machine. Similarly, polling started late at Hashmi School polling station in Gaya. The reason for this, however, was not known. Voting began at 8:30 a.m. at the center. Voting also started late at the Bahria polling station in Lakhisarai.

This time there is a real battle between the NDA and the grand coalition. For the first time in the last fifteen years, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar seemed a little uneasy. However, the opinion polls predicted the return of Nitish Kumar and the NDA.

Since the Corona period, the rules of face masks and social distance were followed.
