Indian troops took a Chinese soldier into custody this morning. He was interrogated. He was asked the reason for coming to Indian territory. Investigative agencies also investigated from the angle of the spy mission. The Chinese soldier has since been sent back to China after all the formalities.

China's PLA had requested the Indian Army to take the missing soldier. According to established protocol, the Chinese soldier was handed back to Chinese officials at the Chushul-Moldo meeting point after the formalities were completed.

The Chinese soldier was identified as Corporal Wang Ya Long. He made the mistake on October 19 in the Damchor sector of eastern Ladakh. After being taken into custody, the PLA soldier was given medical assistance with oxygen, food and warm clothing to escape at high altitudes and in harsh conditions.
