The Chinese soldier was identified as Corporal Wang Ya Long. He made the mistake on October 19 in the Damchor sector of eastern Ladakh. After being taken into custody, the PLA soldier was given medical assistance with oxygen, food and warm clothing to escape at high altitudes and in harsh conditions.
