Like Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, anti-China sentiment was now felt in Nepal. The Nepalese people were accusing China of occupying Nepalese land and setting up a village in Nepal's attack village.

Now the Chinese government's spokesman, the Global Times, claimed that the village in question belonged to China. China has not illegally occupied any land. The Global Times also claimed that the Chinese occupied the Nepalese territory where the village was located in Tibet, so the allegations were completely false.

Nepal's main opposition party, the Nepal Congress, claimed that trucks carrying foodstuffs to rural Nepal were not allowed to enter China. Nepali Congress leader Jeevan Bahadur alleged that the Chinese presence in the attack district was causing distress to the Nepali people.

The Global Times, in its report, alleged that the Indian media was spreading anti-China propaganda to incite the Nepalese people against China. The newspaper also alleged that India was linking the border dispute with China to the case. Jeevan Bahadur also alleged that China had illegally erected a pillar in the border area of Nepal. Nepal negotiates with Chinese officials whenever there is any construction on the border. China had erected the pillar without talking to our officials.
