Unlock Metro: Metro will run again after 169 days, these rules have to be followed

Metro services in Delhi have been closed for the last 169 days due to the Corona epidemic. Metro service is going to start again in Delhi on Monday, September 7. Currently, however, this start is only happening on the Yellow Line. Five days later, from September 12, the Metro service will be operational from the remaining routes keeping in view every safety measure. Everyone has to take care of procedures like social distance, masks and hand sanitization to enter the metro premises.

The metro will run on the 49km Yellow Line on Monday and Tuesday. There are a total of 37 stations on this route. Of these, 20 stations are underground while 17 are elevated. Metre Rail will be operational on this route from 7 to 11 in the morning and from 4 to 8 in the evening. I.e. 4-4 hours in the morning and evening.

The Metro service in Delhi is being launched as a new norm in the current scenario and it is expected that passengers will also help the DMRC in traveling in a new way with cleanliness and social distance in mind.

Necessary instructions for passengers

  • Do not travel in the metro without a reason, apart from this, they are also told not to communicate with each other during the journey.
  • Each passenger is asked to take an extra 15-30 minutes to travel so that they can reach the destination on time.
  • Every passenger has been asked to download the Health Bridge app in their mobile phone.
  • Passengers are asked to travel with a smart card. No tokens available at the station, no cash transactions of any kind.
  • Carry at least luggage while traveling, pocket size sanitizer required, no more than 30 ml sanitizer allowed in metro premises for safety reasons.
