The number of internet users in the country has increased to 74.3 crore

The number of Internet users in the country has increased to 74.3 crore by the end of March 2020.

According to a report released by TRAI, Reliance Jio topped the market with 52 per cent market share in March and Bharti Airtel was second with 23.6 per cent market share.

According to TRAI, the number of Internet users in India as on December 2019 was Rs 71.8 crore, which has increased to Rs 74.3 crore in March 2020, with 72.07 crore wireless internet subscribers and 2.24 crore cable users.

92.5 per cent of the total internet subscribers use broadband. The number of such subscribers is 68.74 crore. The number was 88.19 crore in December.

According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, 97 per cent of Internet subscribers use mobile for internet.

Maharashtra tops the list with 63 million subscribers, followed by Telangana and Andhra Pradesh with 58 million subscribers, UP with 546 million subscribers and Tamil Nadu with 51 million subscribers, while Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have 488 million subscribers.
