The inauguration of the bridge is special at the time of the dispute with China on the border

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will dedicate 43 bridges to the country on Thursday. The bridges are in Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. It was built by Seema Sadak Sangathan. The inauguration of these bridges is considered very important amid the ongoing border dispute with China.

It is believed that the opening of the bridge will help the army to carry its weapons and equipment at the border. The Defense Minister will dedicate all these bridges to the country with the help of video conferencing. Out of these 43 bridges, 7 bridges are located in Ladakh. Another statement said the defense minister would inaugurate the bridge in 7 states and union territories in an online event on Thursday.

The construction by the BRO comes at a time when tensions are running high between India and China over the Line of Actual Control, including eastern Ladakh. Of these, 10 bridges are in Jammu and Kashmir, 2 in Himachal Pradesh, 8-8 bridges in Uttarakhand and Arunachal, 4-4 bridges in Sikkim and Punjab. Officials say Defense Minister Arunachal Pradesh will also lay the foundation stone of the Nechifu tunnel on a road in Pragesha Tawang.
