Rajnath Singh meets Iranian Defense Minister, discusses bilateral relations and regional security

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh met with Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hatami and described the meeting as very meaningful. Rajnath Singh, meanwhile, discussed with the Iranian defense minister issues related to enhancing bilateral relations and regional security, including Afghanistan.

Rajnath Singh arrived in Tehran on Saturday on his way back from concluding his three-day visit to Moscow to attend the SCO defense ministers' meeting. He held bilateral talks in Moscow with counterparts from Russia, China and Central Asian countries.

The Defense Minister tweeted that he had a very meaningful meeting with Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hachami in Tehran. We discussed regional security and bilateral cooperation, including Afghanistan. In another tweet, Rajnath said the two defense ministers discussed ways to move forward with bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on regional security issues, including peace and stability in Afghanistan.

He said that the meeting of the two ministers took place in a very cordial and cordial atmosphere. The two leaders emphasized the centuries-old cultural, linguistic and civilizational ties between India and Iran.
