PM Modi-Rajnath Singh pays last respects to Pranab Mukherjee

New delhi date. 01 September 2020 Tuesday

Former President Pranab Mukherjee will bid farewell today. His funeral will be held at 2.30 pm at Lodhi Cemetery Ghat in Delhi. His terrestrial body will be kept for the final darshan till 12 noon. At 9.30 am, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to him.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh paid tributes to former President Pranab Mukherjee at his residence. The body of former President Pranab Mukherjee was brought from the Army Hospital to his government residence.

The Modi cabinet meeting will be held today at 11 am via video conference. A tribute to former President Pranab Mukherjee will be paid at the cabinet meeting. At the same time a resolution will be passed on his demise. The central government has declared 7 days of national mourning in honor of the former president.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak President Mohan Bhagwat said that the departure of Pranab Mukherjee has created a vacuum. He was generous and kind, not letting it be said during the conversation that I was talking to the President of India. Despite political differences, it was in their nature to make everyone their own. They will always be remembered.
