India expelled Chinese troops trying to attack Pangong in Ladakh

(PTI) New Delhi, Ta. Monday, August 31, 2020

After Galwan, Chinese troops again tried to infiltrate Pangong in Ladakh. The incident took place on the shores of Pangog Lake at midnight on August 29-30. An official statement from the Indian Army said that a large number of Chinese troops had infiltrated and tried to tamper with the Line of Actual Control.

But the Indian army was also present there in large numbers and they were repulsed. However, according to the Army, there was no hand-to-hand fighting in June. The army did not say whether there were any casualties or injuries.

Pangog Lake is spread across both India and China. The lake, which became popular due to the film Three Idiots, is more than a kilometer long. China has been claiming the entire lake as its own. China has carried out various military constructions on the shores of this lake.

Speed boats have been deployed in the lake, increasing the number of troops on the shore. It is on this basis that China's nefarious intentions become clear. China made its intention clear at midnight on August 29. China's move was immediately reported to the defense minister, prime minister, chief of defense staff and national security adviser.

India has been alerting all three wings of the army for a long time and has also increased the number of troops on the border. As a result, the intention of the Chinese troops to infiltrate was not surpassed. On the one hand, the government has criticized the infiltration by China while negotiations are underway to resolve the Indo-China conflict.

This infiltration by China clearly shows that it is not interested in resolving through negotiations. Under these circumstances, Indian Army Chief General Narwane had a separate meeting with senior Army officials to review the situation.

Taking China's move seriously, India has started rocking more troops on the border. Thus, since the conflict in June, the Indian Army and Air Force have increased their numbers and weapons on the LAC. But now more troops are being sent.

Because China does not take retreat seriously. India has a 3488 km long LAC between China and Siachen to Arunachal Pradesh and China is gradually increasing its military strength.

However, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that our troops had not moved out of the area and had not made any incursions. China also pledged that we are committed to adhering to the Line of Actual Control. Military officials from India and China are trying to resolve the issue through negotiations.

Is the condition more serious?

According to the government report, the sub is safe. But experts do not rule out the possibility that the situation may be more serious. Because the highway is immediately closed. More troops have been sent. Besides, military and diplomatic meetings have also started in Delhi. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

Srinagar-Leh highway closed

The highway connecting Srinagar to Leh has been closed to prevent the military convoy from reaching the border area quickly and prevent any further mishap. The four-and-a-half kilometer long road is strategically important as it passes through Pakistan LOC at some points. Pakistan tried to seize the highway in 1999. That is why India has now shown vigilance and closed the highway to the public.

Indo-China conflict

India deployed troops on high peaks

Naturally the army that is at the height gets more advantage strategically. India has increased its troop numbers along the Pangong coast and deployed troops on some of the higher peaks following China's onslaught. Under these circumstances, if China makes any move, it will be known immediately and it will be easier for India to get the upper hand over China. India has deployed troops at bases like Rezangla at an altitude of 16,000 km.

Purchase of 6 lakh new AK-203 rifles: 20,000 will come from Russia, the rest will be made in India

India has decided to buy a new AK-203 rifle from Russia. India needs a total of 6 lakh rifles. Of this, 20,000 will be ready-made imports from Russia. The rest will be made in India under Make in India. Deal negotiations have been going on for some time, but now it has gained momentum. India is likely to start getting rifles by the end of the year. Like the modern version of AK-47, each of these rifles costs around Rs 80,000. Of course, the price will go down as it starts to be made in India. The Indian Army currently has a two-decade-old Insas rifle, which will be replaced by a new one. The AK-47 magazine can also be used in this rifle.

The Pinak rocket will be purchased at a cost of Rs 2,580 crore

Meanwhile, the Defense Ministry today finalized a deal to buy the Pinak rocket system. For this, an agreement was signed with one government and two private companies. The Pinak is a multi-barrel rocket system that will be deployed across the Chinese border. The 6th Regiment of the Indian Army currently intends to use this rocket system. These rockets are fitted to a truck-like vehicle and typically have 12 rockets in one system. The range of this missile is increased due to the truck.

Why did China choose the south coast of Pengong?

China has launched its latest attack on the southern shore of Pangong Lake. There are hills on both sides of this lake. The penguin itself is thirteen and a half to fourteen thousand feet high and the revolving hills are up to 18 thousand feet. But some part of the south coast is flat. In the flat area between Pangog and Chushul, if China gets a chance, China can move on from there. From this point, China can reach Durbuk-Shyok-Daulat Bagh Oldi, which is very important for India. China's intention is to occupy this road sooner or later. Daulat Bagh is a very important military base in the far north. India is building a road up to that point, which is a fundamental objection to China. That is why the conflict started in May-June.

BJP-Congress politics on China issue

The BJP and the Congress had started politics on China's move. Congress spokesperson Surjewala questioned the government on the frequent incursions of Chinese troops, fortunately the Indian military is standing firm against them, but when will Prime Minister Modi turn a blind eye? Responding to his question, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, "The Prime Minister has turned a blind eye, but the eyes of the Congress have become dim, so he does not see it." "This is not a question of any party, it is a question of the nation," Patra said. He also accused the Congress of questioning the bravery of the Indian Army. Another Congress spokesperson, Jayveer Shergill, said the government was reluctant to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation on the border and was hiding the truth.
