New Delhi on 22nd September 2020 Tuesday

Eight MPs, who were suspended in the Rajya Sabha for protesting against the Agriculture Bill, staged an overnight demonstration in front of a statue of Gandhiji in the premises of the Parliament House. When Rajya Sabha Deputy Speaker Harivansh arrived with tea for the MPs, Sanjay Singh told them that you were also responsible for the situation.

Members opposing the Agriculture Bill tore up the Rules Book in the House on Sunday, tore up copies of the Agriculture Bill, smashed the mic and shook hands, finally Rajya Sabha Speaker Vainkeya Naidu suspended these members till the end of the monsoon session.

After that, these MPs sat in front of the Parliament House in front of the statue of Gandhiji to picket. The picket lasted all night Sunday. Naidu's suspended members included Derek O'Brien, Sanjay Singh, Dola Sen, A Karim, Rajiv Satav, KK Ragesh and Ripun Bora.

However, agricultural bills were passed in the Rajya Sabha. The protests by the opposition made no sense. The Shiromani Akali Dal, a constituent party of the NDA, was also involved in opposing the bill.
