Who is Jaichand in the Congress party? How the letter written to Sonia Gandhi reached the media

The 135-year-old Congress party now clearly has two rifts

New delhi date. Tuesday 25 August 2020

The Congress party on Monday persuaded Sonia Gandhi to continue as party president but before that there was a heated debate on the issue of who is Jaichand (traitor) in the party. The letter written by 23 senior leaders to Sonia Gandhi needs to find out how the media leaked and who did it.

The fact that the party, now 135 years old and a major contributor to the country's freedom struggle, is now divided into two factions is as clear as a lamp. Sonia Gandhi, however, warned that such misconduct would not be carried out in the future. However, one thing is clear that many leaders in the party are not happy with the leadership of the Gandhi family.

In the last few elections to Parliament and the Legislative Assembly, the leadership of the Gandhi family did not show any signs of improvement. The Congress, which at one time won 400 out of 542 seats in Parliament, does not even have enough seats to put in three figures today. The young generation of the party is free to accept the fact that it is not satisfied with the leadership.

Jaichand was a historical character who defeated his own king by helping the British government at the last moment. The seven-hour meeting of the Congress executive on Monday was a good one, but in the end, it went awry.

One thing was proved again that without the Gandhi family, the Congress could no longer survive. The Congress does not have a leader with charisma or popularity like the Gandhi family. At present, the Congress does not have a leader who can win the parliamentary or assembly elections. With Bihar and then West Bengal Assembly elections looming in 2021, it is in everyone's interest for the Congress party to remain united.
