A CRPF contingent was attacked this morning in Baramulla area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir. The attack killed a special police officer and two CRPF personnel.

The assailants managed to escape by carrying out a terrorist attack on the CRPF detachment. Security forces cordoned off the entire Carrie area. An investigation into the Chomer attackers was underway. The CRPF team was on duty as a Naka party in the Krai area this morning when the ambushing militants started firing indiscriminately. Two CRPF 119 battalion personnel were injured in the firing. Both the soldiers were not killed later. A senior Jammu and Kashmir police officer was also killed. Thus three Jawans were martyred.

Terrorists have been attacking security forces for the last few days. On Friday, militants attacked a police party in the Naugam bypass area on the outskirts of Srinagar, killing two policemen. It was later revealed that the attack was carried out by Jaish-e-Muhammad. Two days earlier, a detachment of the Indian Army was attacked in the Sopore area of ​​Baramulla. One jawan was injured in the attack.

In the last fortnight, there have been a series of terrorist attacks on Congress and BJP-affiliated sarpanches and security personnel. One sarpanch of both the Congress and the BJP was shot dead.

A spokesman for the Indian Army believes that without local co-operation, terrorists could not strike at security in this way. Local sleeping cells need to be jerked.
