The JEE-NEET 2020 error will be the same as the 1976 sterilization error

The JEE-NEET 2020 error will be the same as the 1976 sterilization error

-Government has to avoid JEE-NEET exams till Diwali

-Once again the demand made by Subramanian Swamy New Delhi on 24th August 2020 Monday

On the issue of JEE-NEET 2020 exams, BJP MP Dr Subramaniam Swamy once again protested, saying that if the government did not believe in the issue, it would be a serious mistake like the sterilization done by Sanjay Gandhi during the 1976 crisis. Indira Gandhi was defeated in the 1977 parliamentary elections due to the sterilization.

Swamy had earlier written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue and had a phone conversation with Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal. Not only Swami was demanding cancellation of JEE-NEET exams, leaders of other parties were also demanding this.

Senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi also demanded that the JEE-NEET exams be postponed on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, AAP leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had publicly demanded that the JEE-NEET exam be postponed for the time being.

Regarding this demand, the Human Resource Development Department said that this demand is not justified. The future of the students cannot be compromised. Avoiding exams is not relevant.

The ministry claimed that out of a total of 8 lakh 58 thousand 273 students of JEE (main), 6 lakh 49 thousand 223 students had even downloaded their admit cards. It is no longer appropriate to avoid exams. The exams are scheduled to take place around September 6.

With the countdown to the exams looming and the HRD department's claim that millions of students have downloaded admit cards true, the central government is not in the mood to accept the demand of other leaders to cancel the exams at this stage. Dr. Subramanian Swamy describes the decision as a serious mistake, such as the forced sterilization of Sanjay Gandhi in 1976.
