SOP issued for media and film industry, announced by Prakash Javadekar

Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar on Sunday announced the standard operating procedure for the media and film production industry. Javadekar said that care should be taken for shooting in the film industry. The use of masks and sanitizers has been made mandatory. The SOP has been issued in view of the transition of the corona.

Javadekar said work on film and TV serials could now begin. For this, people in the industry have to follow social distance, as well as wear a mask. Only people who are in front of the camera or who are shooting. They will be exempted from this.

Javadekar said the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued an extended SOP to resume work in the media world. The general principle of SOP will help create a safe work environment for artists and employees in the industry. SOP ensures adequate spacing at shoot locations and other work locations. As well as measures including proper hygiene, crowd management and provision for protective devices.

About SOP, Javadekar said, at least contact is basic in SOP. This will be ensured by at least physical contact and PPE by the hair stylist, sharing props and makeup artists among others.

Minimize the exchange of clothes, wigs, makeup items during the shooting. Makeup artist and hair stylist use PPE kit. If the equipment is used by some people, it will also be necessary to wear gloves.

Avoid lapel mic and don't share if you use it. There should be at least a cast and crew member during the shooting. Visitors or audiences will not be allowed on the sets. The local administration can be resorted to for the management of outsiders at the time of outdoor shooting.
