'No one can bring a good day except Gandhi family', impatient Ranjan Chaudhary writes letter to Sonia

- Earlier 23 MPs had sent letters

New Delhi Dated 24th August 2020 Monday

Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, an outspoken Congress MP, said that even earlier non-Gandhians like PV Narasimha Rao and Sitaram Kesari had taken over the reins of the party. But these leaders could not bring ‘good days’ for the party. The salvation of the Congress is not possible without the Gandhi family.

Sonia Gandhi is due to step down as interim Congress president today due to ill health. On that occasion, the party already had two cracks. Earlier, 23 MPs had written a letter to Sonia saying that a non-Gandhi leader should be made party president. Asked about this, Adhir Ranjan said that these MPs can express their views in the party's executive. One thing is for sure, no leader other than the Gandhi family has the power to make the Congress party efficient again. None of the non-Gandhi presidents who have come so far have been able to carry out a major raid.

Ranjan Chaudhary, one of the only two Congress MPs in West Bengal, alleged that the Congress was deliberately weakened. The party is and will be safe in the hands of the Gandhi family. He added that the leadership of the Gandhi family was essential to regain what has been lost so far.

Chaudhary claimed that party leaders, activists and supporters across the country have 100 per cent faith in Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and that no one else can handle the post of party president.

On the eve of today's Congress executive meeting, it was revealed that 23 MPs had written letters to Sonia, creating a rift in the party.
