Megh Thandav in Madhya Pradesh: Eight killed so far, more than 7000 rescued

The last few days have seen heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh. Due to continuous heavy rains, flood situation has arisen in the state. 12 districts of Madhya Pradesh have been affected by the floods. The situation is so bad that rescue operations have to be carried out in some places with the help of the army. The floods have so far claimed the lives of eight people in the state. So out of 454 villages in 12 districts, more than 7000 people have been rescued. Apart from this, efforts are underway to rescue more than 12000 people from 40 villages trapped in the floods. This information has been given by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.

Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that eight people have died so far due to falling walls and tension in the river channel. The continuous rains for the last two days have caused catastrophic conditions in 454 villages in 12 districts. The NDRF, SDRF and Air Force are working to rescue people trapped in the floods. So far 7000 people have been rescued.

As many as 170 relief camps have been set up in the state, accommodating 9300 people. Rescue operations are underway across the state on a war footing. A control room has been set up at the Chief Minister's residence. Ghodapur has come into the Narmada and its tributaries. State checkdams have overflowed. Due to which rivers are flowing on dangerous surface. Hoshangabad, Raisen and Shihor districts on both banks of the Narmada are devastated.

Many villages and cities in Madhya Pradesh have been submerged. "I have discussed the flood situation in the state with the Prime Minister this morning," Shivraj Singh said. Has given them information about the state of affairs. Apart from this, help has also been sought from Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

Three Air Force helicopters have been deployed in the rescue operation. The Madhya Pradesh government is still demanding two helicopters. A contingent of 70 Army personnel is already engaged in the rescue operation. More troops have also been demanded.
