Landslide closes Badrinath Highway in Uttarakhand, red alert for heavy rains in 4 districts

Heavy rains in Uttarakhand have not stopped the devastation. The meteorological department has issued red alert for heavy rains in Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Chamoli and Nenital districts. While Orange Alert has been issued for Dehradun and Tehri. Heavy rains in this district of Uttarakhand in the next 24 hours may also cause landslides in the mountains. Mountains can wreak havoc. The condition is also bad in the plains due to torrential rains.

It has been raining for three days in the high hills of Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. Due to which the world famous Shakti Peeth Nena Devi was flooded. Due to torrential rains, springs are flowing everywhere. PWD is working to remove the stones that fell on the road after the landslide. The mountainous areas here are shrouded in fog. Due to which the driver has to keep the headlights on even during the day.

Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Dehradun. The emergency and corona wards of Kovid Hospital here have been flooded.

A belly bridge has been constructed by the BRO in Pithoragarh in record time. Debris flowed after a bridge here collapsed due to a cloudburst on July 27.

In Rishikesh, people are scared to see the roar of Song river. The river broke several dams which caused floods in some villages. Dozens of flood-hit families are facing food and drink problems.

A landslide following heavy rains in Nepal's Sindhupal Chowk district has killed 19 people and left about 27 missing. More than a dozen people are known to have been injured. Many homes were destroyed by the floodwaters. A JCB machine has been brought in to evacuate those trapped in the debris. The injured have been airlifted to Kathmandu.
