Construction of Ram Mandir: Why Advani, Joshi were invited to Bhumi Pujan late .. ??

Veteran BJP leader LK Advani is coming up with the news that he will be invited by phone for the Bhumi Pujan program to be held on August 5 in Ayodhya. Earlier, there were rumors that Advani and former BJP national president Murli Manohar Joshi had not been invited.

However, Advani and Joshi have been instrumental in setting up the Ram Mandir movement and not being invited could be a major issue, so the two leaders have now been called to the event to control the damage. Advani and Joshi are both accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case.

On the other hand, Uma Bharti and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, who shone in BJP politics because of the Ram Mandir agitation, have already been sent invitations in a respectful manner. Uma and Kalyan Singh have said that they have no regrets about the demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992.

Advani neglected?

After Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014, veteran leaders including Advani and Joshi were included in the steering committee. The party was supposed to use their experiences but hardly any meeting of this congregation would have taken place. During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Advani's ticket was canceled without notice from the Gandhinagar seat in Gujarat and the then BJP president Amit Shah contested from that seat. Advani was also upset over the incident and complained that he was not consulted before cutting the ticket. He also saw tears in the eyes of senior party leader Shanta Kumar when he went to meet Advani at the time. A video of Modi ignoring Advani during a public meeting before the Lok Sabha elections became popular and is still shared today.
