New Delhi, 23 August 2020 Sunday

With Rakesh Asthana assuming the post of Director General of BSF, BSF has started technically upgrading. According to him, 436 small and micro drones have been approved for anti-drone system on the Indo-Pak border. This system can kill any drone carrying weapons for terrorists in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir.

Under the Comprehensive Integrated Border Management (CIBM), all 1923 border outposts operated by the BSF on the Pakistan-Bangladesh border will be equipped with sensors, CCTV, and drone feed, enabling 1,500 outposts to reiki the border and use the anti-drone system.

The BSF is currently testing an indigenous anti-drone system on the sensitive Punjab border, with the help of security agencies, where small micro-drones will cost around Rs 88 crore, according to leading Home Ministry officials. In the last one year, Pakistan has been using Chinese drones to deliver rifles, pistols and grenades to Khalistani militants in Punjab and jihadists in Jammu and Kashmir.
