Appeal of Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh before CWC meeting, Sonia Gandhi to lead Congress

New delhi date. Monday 24 August 2020

Shortly before today's meeting of the Congress working committee on Monday, both former Madhya Pradesh chief ministers Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh have spoken of Sonia Gandhi becoming full-time chairperson. The two leaders have expressed their support in one tweet after another.

Digvijay Singh said he could not imagine a Congress without the Nehru-Gandhi family and that an ordinary party worker would not accept anyone else as party president. The two leaders' tweets came in less than half an hour.

The meeting of the Congress Working Committee is taking place against the backdrop of more than 100 Congress leaders writing letters to the party president to bring about a major change. Kamal Nath tweeted that any advice or allegation on Sonia Gandhi's leadership is inconsistent. I appeal to Sonia Gandhi to strengthen the Congress party as president and lead the Congress.

"I have had the privilege of working with Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi," he said. I have had the privilege of serving the Congress Party as a Member of Parliament for almost 40 years, a long time. I was also the General Secretary of the Congress Party for some years. We should not forget that despite all the false rumors against Sonia Gandhi, she led the Congress party to victory in 2004 and kept Atal Bihari Vajpayee at home.

Digvijay Singh tweeted that Sonia Gandhi's leadership is universal. If Sonia Gandhi wants to leave the post of Congress president, then Rahul Gandhi should give up his stubbornness and accept the post of president. The general Congress of the country will not accept the activist and anyone.
