Srinagar, Sunday 30 August 2020
Three militants were killed in a clash with the army on the outskirts of Srinagar on Sunday, in addition to the slain militants, an assistant sub-inspector of police said.
The militants opened fire on a joint police-CRPF blockade at Pantha Chowk near the city.
He said a joint force of police and CRPF then cordoned off the area and conducted a search operation there.
The official said the militants opened fire for the second time during a search operation in the area, to which the clashes erupted after security forces responded, adding that the area was completely cordoned off, and the firing started this morning. The terrorists were killed.
