Wear police on Ganga, Yamuna, Narmada Kshipra river ghats

Ujjain Dt. 20 July 2020 Monday

According to the Hindi calendar of the country, the month of Shravan has started. Shravan will start from tomorrow in West India. The glory of Tirthasnan in Shravan is very much in Rajasthan and North India.

In view of this fact, the Madhya Pradesh government had set up police patrols on rivers including Kshipra in Ujjain to prevent people from taking pilgrimage. The move was said to be in view of the fact that Corona is currently blackmailing people across the country.

Today is Monday Amas. In North India this amas is also known as green amas. On this day millions of people flock to bathe in most of the rivers. The state governments felt that it was necessary to prevent people from performing Tirthasnana as the Corona period was prevailing, so besides the various ghats of the Ganges in Uttar Pradesh, police were also deployed at various ghats of the Kshipra river in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.

Police were also deployed at various ghats of Narmada at some places including Jabalpur. However, according to prima facie reports, most of the ghats were spotted. The people themselves did not turn to the ferry for fear of Corona. People were not seen on Ekke Ghat even near Omkareshwar. A police spokesperson said that Gwari Ghat in Jabalpur was also deserted. However, police were deployed as a precautionary measure.

Darshan of Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga was also banned by the local administration. Thus, even in Shravan Mass, people will not be allowed to turn on this Jyotirlinga.

However this evening the ride of Mahakaleshwar with royal pomp from the Mahakaleshwar temple will reach the Kshipra river after the town discussion where the priest of Mahakaleshwar will anoint and worship the Lord with the water of the river. After that, the ride will return to Mahakaleshwar Temple through Ramanujkot, Harisiddha Temple and Bada Ganesha, said a spokesperson of Mahakaleshwar Temple.
