The decision to open the world's tallest non-polar glacier was made in October. But the decision to implement it has been taken amid ongoing tensions with China.

With this decision, India has sent a clear message to China that China's aggression will not affect India. Siachen, famous as the world's tallest battlefield, is located west of the Galvan Valley in Ladakh.

Siachen overlooks the India-Pakistan and Shakhs village tri-junction. Shakhsagam is the valley that Pakistan has given to China along with Aksai Chin. And India considers it its own.

Siachen Base Camp is 225 km from Leh. The base camp is at an altitude of about 11,000 feet and the Kumar post is at an altitude of 15,000 feet. The Army Adventure Cell will take information from the tourist who wants to go there and then allow it. This decision will develop the villages on the border as well as provide financial assistance to the villagers.
