The anti-corona vaccine will be tested at AIIMS from today

New Delhi, July 20, 2020, Monday

The corona vaccine will be tested on human patients from today at AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences).

Corona has infected more than 4.5 million people worldwide in the last six months. Countries around the world have been pushing for a vaccine against corona, but so far no country has made accurate progress in this direction.

It was announced a few days ago that Indian scientists have discovered a vaccine that can breathe corona. It was also announced at the time that the trial was being conducted on livestock.

Following the success of the trial, it was decided to conduct the trial on human patients. This indigenous vaccine was named covexin. The first and second clinical trials were formally sanctioned by the Centre's health department and have been testing on humans for the past one week. "Once the experiments are successful, doctors across the country will be able to get the vaccine," the spokesman said.

Covexin was developed through the joint efforts of both the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Bharat Biotech International Limited. Tests will begin today at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in the capital New Delhi.

Apart from AIIMS, it is being tested at 12 other centers across the country. In the first phase, it will be tested on a total of 375 volunteers, of which 100 will be tested at AIIMS in Delhi. The test is performed on volunteers between the ages of 18 and 55.

The covid test will be done before each volunteer. Volunteers who have been successful in testing blood pressure, blood, liver, kidneys, stomach, etc. will be tested for purge covacin, an AIIMS spokesperson said.

For now, the trial will be in two phases. The first and second phases will take 90 days to complete. The first human trial will take a month to complete. Details of the result will then be sent to the Drug Controller of India. Permission will then be granted for the second phase. This means that both phases will take about 90 days to complete.

Health experts believe that the vaccine will soon be available across the country and doctors will start getting doses of the vaccine.
