Taiwanese MPs, two steps ahead of India, beat up in Parliament

During the debates in Parliament in India, there are demonstrations on Uhapoh, Shorbakor and on the floor and people have become accustomed to it. However, Taiwanese MPs have gone one step further than Indian MPs in protesting.

In Taiwan, lawmakers from the ruling Democratic Progressive Party and the opposition Komitang Party clashed in parliament over the nomination, injuring one lawmaker and smashing glass in the building. Several other lawmakers were also beaten.

Taiwan's parliament is already notorious for violence. MPs clashed with each other from time to time. Four years ago, there was a hand-to-hand battle between the lawmakers over the government's proposal to cut pensions.

This time, the reason behind the scuffle was to stop a woman MP from the ruling party named Chen Chu from filing nominations. Members of the opposition party Kaumitang stopped her from filing nomination forms.
