Politics of religion in MP: Congress's 'Har Har Mahadev, Ghar Ghar Mahadev' campaign in response to 'Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Tulsi'

Indore, Ta. 15 July 2020, Wednesday

Religious politics has begun between the BJP and the Congress over the by-elections in Madhya Pradesh's most prestigious Sanwer assembly constituency. In response to the 'Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Tulsi' campaign launched by the BJP, the Congress has now launched the 'Har Har Mahadev, Ghar Ghar Mahadev' campaign. Under it, Congress leader Premchand Guddu will set up Shivlings at home to create an atmosphere in the Congress party and also to respond to the BJP through religion. Preparations have also been started for this.

In the by-elections at Sanwer, politics is currently being played between the BJP and the Congress on the issue of religion. If BJP distributed Tulsi plants by running 'Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Tulsi' campaign, then Congress is also going to distribute Shivling in Shravan month. According to Congress MLA Sanjay Shukla, Shravan month is on and people cannot go to the temple to worship Lord Bholanath as the temples are closed due to lockdown.

Due to this, the Ghar Ghar Mahadev Abhiyan has been started so that people can perform abhishek by setting up a Shivling at home. Under it 51,000 Shivlings have been prepared. For this campaign, Congress workers are working to register people in every village so that Shivlings can be formally installed in homes. Along with this, materials for worship will also be provided.

Congress asked for 15 months account

The BJP has likened the Congress' campaign to a show. According to BJP district president Rajesh Sonkar, who has been an MLA from Sanwer, BJP workers work among the people for 365 days, but now that elections have come, the Congress needs someone to go among the people. That is why they are trying to go among the masses with the help of religion and God. But the people of Sanwer understand everything. Congress should not resort to God just to get votes. The public is waiting for these people to come and demand an account from them for 15 months.
