At least 24 people have been killed and seven others seriously injured when gunmen opened fire on a drug rehabilitation center in the Mexican state of Guanajuato.

At least 24 people were killed and seven others were injured when gunmen opened fire on a drug rehabilitation center in the town of Arapauto in Mexico's Guanajuato state on Wednesday, police said. The attackers did not kidnap anyone. However, the motive behind the attack is not yet known.


According to police, the condition of three of the seven injured is critical. In Guanajuato, there is a murderous game between the Mexican crime group Jalisco Cartel and a local gang. According to the governor of the state of Guanajuato, the attack may have been the involvement of a drug-trafficking group. One such attack took place last month.
