India does not need new places of worship, Karti Chidambaram opposes Ram temple

New Delhi, July 30, 2020, Thursday

Construction of the new Ram temple will begin in Ayodhya on August 5. Earlier, senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram's son and Congress MP Karti Chidambaram had opposed the Ram temple.

"There is no need for a new place of worship in India now," Chidambaram said on social media. Wednesdays are from 12 noon to 1:30 pm. No auspicious work can be started during this time. However, I am adamant that the country does not need a new place of worship.

Karti reiterated his old tweet, saying, "I firmly believe that India does not need any new type of temple, church, mosque, gurdwara. We have enough such places."
