Immigration officials have tightened their grip on the issue a week after the Trump administration lifted sanctions on international students in the United States. Now immigration officials have announced that new foreign students will not be allowed entry into the United States if they only want to enter online classes at the new academic session starting in September.

The Trump administration's announcement will dampen the hopes of students from countries, including India, who want to study online in the United States. The Immigration Department has instructed universities not to issue Form 1-20S only to foreign students who are admitted to online studies only.

The Immigration Department has instructed the country's leading universities in this regard and said that visas will not be issued to students who have not been nominated by March 9 and who have to register only for the online course.

The Trump administration's announcement will largely affect new students hoping to gain access to online classes at universities. Universities will only provide online classes due to Corona in the new academic session.

However, Arthwa, who is already in the US, is returning from abroad and students who already have a visa are still allowed to take classes online in full. The Immigration Department has instructed universities not to issue Form 1-20S only to foreign students who are admitted to online studies only. These documents are very necessary to apply for a student visa.

According to the Standard Resource Open Doors on International Students, an estimated 270,000 new foreign students were enrolled in graduate, undergraduate and non-degree courses in the 2019 academic session. Of the estimated 1 million foreign students studying in the United States, more than 200,000 are from India.
