Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the front outpost Nimu with the army in Leh. The site is located at an altitude of 11,000 feet above sea level. The Prime Minister has shocked everyone with this surprise visit. He was accompanied by CDS General Bipin Rawat and Army Chief MM Narwane.

Defense Minister's visit postponed
CDS Rawat was scheduled to accompany Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to Leh but his visit was postponed on Thursday evening due to unavoidable reasons. The CDS was then reported to have reached Leh this morning but no one doubted that the Prime Minister himself would reach there. The prime minister's visit comes amid tensions on the border with China following the violence in the Galvan Valley.
