Clashes between militants and army in Pulwama, 2 jawans injured, one terrorist shot dead

Clashes between security forces and militants continue in Gusu, Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. A policeman and an army jawan were injured in the clash. According to a report, a search operation is being conducted in Gusu by a team of 53 National Rifles of Police and Army. The entire area was cordoned off during the operation and security forces shot dead one militant.

The militants were provoked as police and army personnel cordoned off the area and started firing. However, the joint team responded to the terrorists' firing and a clash ensued.

A senior police official also confirmed the firing between the joint team and the militants. According to a report, two to three militants are hiding in the area and firing is still going on between the militants and security forces.

Terrorist attack on CRPF

Earlier on July 5, militants attacked the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Pulwama. The militants targeted the CRPF convoy with an IED blast and then opened fire. However no casualties were reported in the attack and the entire area was cordoned off after the attack.
