The country's army is being continuously strengthened under the Make in India campaign. Then one more name has been added to the strength of the army and the anti-tank 'Dhruvastra' missile has been successfully tested. This missile made in India has the power to completely destroy the enemy. It was tested at Balasore in Odisha on July 15 and 16 and has since been handed over to the Army.

The missile will be used with an Indian Army Dhruv helicopter. This means that the attack helicopter will be deployed at the pole so that when the time comes, the enemy can be taught a lesson. However, the current test has been carried out without a helicopter. Earlier this missile was named 'Nag' which has now been changed to Polavastra.

The missile is indigenous and has a range of up to 4 km. It can destroy any tank. The Pole Helicopter is also a fully indigenous helicopter. In these circumstances it is considered a great achievement for the DRDO and the army as it no longer has to depend on any other country for such a missile.

According to the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) website, Dhruvastra is a third-generation 'target and forget' anti-tank missile (ATGM) system installed on a modern lightweight helicopter. The system is capable of working day and night in all seasons and can destroy a battle tank with an explosive reactive shield along with a conventional shield.

It is noteworthy that there is a constant state of tension on the border with China. The Army is fully vigilant in these circumstances and on the other hand DRDO is building new missiles to promote Make in India. It may be mentioned that India will soon get a Raphael fighter jet from France which will be deployed at Ambala airbase.
