New delhi date. Wednesday, June 24, 2020

An official of the Uttarakhand government's licensing department of Ayurveda said on Wednesday that there was no mention of Coronavirus in the application for a license from Patanjali Ayurveda after the Ministry of AYUSH banned the promotion of Patanjali Ayurvedic medicine Coronil.

According to the news agency, the licensing officer said Patanjali was only allowed to make immunity enhancers and cough and fever medicines. "We will issue a notice to Patanjali Ayurveda and ask him where he got permission to make the Kovid-19 kit," the official said.

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev Patanjali Ayurveda on Tuesday launched a kit of a drug called 'Coronil' claiming treatment for Covid-19. The AYUSH Ministry has issued a notice on it and asked for an answer. The ministry has sought complete data on the coronal kit from the Patanjali group. The Ministry of AYUSH has sought a copy of the license issued to the Patanjali Group to the Licensing Authority Department of the Government of Uttarakhand. Apart from this, the department has been asked for details of approval for production of Ayurvedic medicine.
