Was the government of this country hiding the death toll .. ?? Health Minister resigns

Chile, Ta. 14 June 2020, Sunday

The health minister of the South American country Chile has resigned in the wake of the Corona virus epidemic. As many as 1.67 lakh cases of corona have been reported in Chile so far and 3,101 people have died. The Chilean government has been accused of undermining the death toll, and public outrage has not subsided, despite protests by the government.

As the death toll rose, pressure was mounting on the Chilean government to allow Health Minister Jamie Manalich to resign on Saturday. However, according to Chilean President Sebastian Pinera, Jamie left no stone unturned in his efforts to save the Chilean people. Dr. Enrique Paris, who is now involved in education, has been made the Minister of Health.

With a population of only 19 million in Chile, 1.67 million cases of corona are considered dangerous. The country has the highest number of corona cases in Latin America, with a population of one million.

Claudio Castro, the mayor of Renca, Chile, demanded that the government release comprehensive figures. Earlier, the local administration of the municipality said 22 people had died and 11 families were awaiting tests, but the Union Health Ministry said only nine had died.

Jamie's opposition was fueled by opposition leaders, the mayor, medical experts and social groups as the Chilean government failed to release comprehensive statistics on Corona. Also, the Chilean government did not take the decision to lockdown at the right time.

Chileans, on the other hand, are experiencing food shortages due to lockdowns and epidemics, with people taking to the streets to protest. The health minister is believed to have resigned to quell public anger.
