Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav's youngest daughter-in-law and leader Aparna Yadav has been given Y category protection by the Yogi government. Sunil Kumar, Joint Secretary, Home Department, Section 16, ADG Security, has issued an order in this regard.

Prateek Yadav's wife Aparna Yadav had contested the 2017 Assembly elections from Lucknow's Kent seat on a Samajwadi Party ticket. Aparna had earlier met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He often praises PM Modi and CM Yogi.

Aparna Yadav has praised the work of Yogi Adityanath, the CM of UP. Aparna said that despite becoming the CM, Yogi Adityanath is attached to the land. He is like a guru to me. At the same time, being a Hindu is not a crime. They are taking the whole region along, regardless of religion, caste or community, but they are always ready to help everyone.

In September last year, when the Assembly by-elections were held in UP, the SP fielded Major Ashish Chaturvedi from Lucknow Cantt by not giving him a ticket to Aparna Yadav. Rita Bahuguna Joshi won the election from here and Aparna Yadav gave her a big bang. They were second.
