The resignation of Raghuvansh Prasad, who is considered as Lalu Yadav's personal, will not cost RJD the election.

Political tensions are running high for the Bihar Assembly elections. That is when the political earthquake in RJD struck just before the election. Five MLCs of RJD have left the party and joined JDU. Not only that, RJD national vice-president Raghuvansh Prasad Singh has also resigned from his post. The resignation of Lalu Prasad Yadav's personal Raghuvansh Prasad is seen as a major blow to the party.

Raghuvansh Prasad is angry over the inclusion of former MP Rama Singh in the RJD. Although he has been annoyed many times before but every time Lalu Yadav used to persuade him. During the month of February this year, Lalu Yadav visited the jail with an angry Raghuvansh and asked him, "You are the senior of the party, if you are the one who gets annoyed, how will it work?" Were persuaded to say so.

Raghuvansh Prasad is one of the select leaders of the RJD who has been instrumental in taking the party to the top. He is one of the few RJD leaders who has never been accused of corruption or bullying. Raghuvansh Prasad's resentment could cost RJD and Tejaswi Yadav dearly as there is a shortage of senior leaders in the party after Lalu Yadav's imprisonment. He is considered to be the face of the party who plays an important role in keeping senior party workers attached to the party.

Raghuvansh Prasad holds an MSc and a PhD in Mathematics and continued to take part in the agitations led by Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan. He was appointed Secretary of the United Social Party in 1973 and became an MLA for the first time in 1977. This was followed by a series of victories at Belsand until 1985. Meanwhile, Karpoori Thakur died suddenly in 1988.

At that time there was a government of Jagannath Mishra in Bihar and Lalu Yadav was claiming his place of Karpoori. It was at that time that Raghuvansh Prasad accompanied Lalu Yadav and their close relationship began. In the 1990 Bihar Assembly elections, Digvijay Pratap Singh of the Congress was standing against Raghuvansh Prasad and Prasad lost by 2,405 votes.

Raghuvansh Prasad lost the assembly elections but the Janata Dal won in the state and Lalu Yadav reached the CM's chair dramatically. Lalu Yadav was sent to the Legislative Council in 1988 for remembering what Prasad had helped him and in 1995 he was made a minister in Lalu's cabinet.

The Congress wanted Raghuvansh Prasad to join the party

Following the results of the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, the RJD backed the Congress from outside. However, Manmohan Singh wanted to give the rural development ministry to Raghuvansh Prasad Singh again at that time. But the RJD rejected the offer to join the government. At that time, the Congress made an offer to Raghuvansh to join the Congress, which he rejected and chose to stay with Lalu Yadav.

But today, when Bahubali Rama Singh is entering the RJD, Raghuvansh Prasad is angry and has resigned as the party's national vice-president. It remains to be seen whether Lalu Yadav will be able to persuade him this time or whether Raghuvansh Prasad will find his new political seat.
