The PM Care Fund will be audited and an independent auditor will be appointed

More than three lakh people in the country have been infected with the corona virus. While all the central and state governments are working together to defeat the Corona virus, the controversy over the PM Care Fund is raging so that it can be audited.

The Modi government, which has been embroiled in controversy and court cases, on Friday appointed an independent auditor to update the PM Care Fund's information. While two officials from the Prime Minister's Office will manage the fund on an honorary basis.

In fact an RTI was recently filed in court for information on the PM Care Fund. RTI activists have challenged the fund in the Bombay High Court as well as the Delhi High Court, citing a lack of transparency. However, no reply has been given to this RTI.

However, answers to some of the questions raised in the RTI application have now been posted on the PM Care Fund's website. Accordingly, the fund was registered as a charitable trust on March 27 and its head office is registered as the PM's office in the South Block.

Online RTI

Information about the PM Care Fund was sought by an RTI. However, information from the Prime Minister's Office was withheld. The CPIO did not respond to a request for information under RTI, saying the PM Care Fund does not fall under the purview of RTI.

Dispute over funds

However, the PM Care Fund has been embroiled in controversy since its inception. CSR donations are allowed for the PM Care Fund but not for the CM Relief Fund. Apart from that, despite the passage of two and a half months, the names of the trustees of the board have not come up. No PSU donation for PM National Relief Fund but it is approved for PM Care. Apart from that, there is also a lack of transparency in foreign donations.

Donation appeal

The whole world is currently facing the Corona epidemic and new cases are also coming up every day in India. Due to this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had requested the people to donate to the PM Care Fund to combat the Koro epidemic in March.
