Rathyatra of Lord Jagannath in times of crisis in Koro, PM Modi-Amit Shah send best wishes

A number of events have stalled due to the Corona crisis but the historic Jagannath Yatra kicked off today after getting Supreme Court approval on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah sent greetings on the rath yatra in Puri, Odisha and Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote in a tweet on Tuesday morning, "My best wishes to all on the auspicious occasion of Lord Jagannath's Rathyatra. Hopefully, this journey full of faith and devotion will bring happiness, prosperity, good fortune and health in the lives of the countrymen. Jai Jagannath. '

Apart from that, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also greeted the devotees of Lord Jagannath. He tweeted, "I wish you all the best on the occasion of Rathyatra. Lord Jagannath brings happiness in everyone's life. Jai Jagannath. '

President Ramnath Kovinde also wished the countrymen on the occasion. He wrote, 'On the auspicious occasion of Rathyatra, greetings to all the countrymen, especially to the devotees of Lord Jagannath in Odisha. I pray that the grace of Lord Jagannath will give us courage and determination to face Kovid-19 and transmit health and happiness in our lives. '

It may be mentioned that due to the Koro crisis, there was a cloud of crisis over the rathyatra to be held this year but during a special hearing in the Supreme Court on Monday, the court gave conditional approval for the rathyatra. Then today the rathyatra was started by following the rules with great caution and in the presence of few devotees.

A lockdown was imposed in Puri from Monday night for the rath yatra and entry-exit was closed. Apart from that, public vehicles were banned and all the people in the temple premises underwent medical checkup. Apart from Puri in Odisha, a rath yatra is also planned in Ahmedabad, Gujarat in the presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
