North Korea blew up an inter-Korean liaison office on its border

North Korea demolished an inter-Korean liaison office building inside its borders. Tensions have risen on the Korean peninsula following North Korea's action.

There were no South Koreans in the building on the North Korean border. This is the biggest provocative action taken by North Korea since talks with Trump in 2018. Today's action by North Korea has dealt the biggest blow to South Korean President Moon Jae-in's peace efforts. However, the exact details of how the building was demolished are not known.

However, a military surveillance video was released by the South Korean government showing the building collapsing in Kaesong. South Korea, meanwhile, has warned North Korea that it will retaliate if any provocative action is taken by it now.

North Korea's action was followed by an emergency meeting of the National Security Council. The meeting said that today's action by North Korea has turned the tide in the hope of improving relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile, South Korea's Defense Ministry said in a statement that it was keeping a close eye on North Korea's activities. And it is ready to respond to any North Korean action in the future. North Korea cut off all military and telecommunications ties with South Korea last week.
