Krishna temple to be built in Islamabad, Pakistan, government will provide Rs 10 crore

It will be the first Hindu temple in Islamabad, Pakistan. The construction work of the temple of Lord Krishna, which will be built at a cost of Rs 10 crore, has started. According to the information received, the temple will be built in H-9 area of ​​the capital in 20 thousand square feet.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the temple was held on Tuesday by Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights Lalchand Malhi. Addressing the gathering, he said that there were many temples in and around Islamabad before 1947, one of which is near Saidpur village and the other near the Korang river, although they are not being used.

According to media reports, the Hindu population in Islamabad has grown exponentially in the last two decades and the need for a temple has arisen.

Religious Affairs Minister Pir Nurul Haque Qadri said the construction cost would be borne by the government. The construction of which will cost Rs 10 crore. The minister has already raised the issue of special grant for the temple with Prime Minister Imran Khan, a senior ministry official was quoted as saying.

The Islamabad Hindu Panchayat has named the temple Shri Krishna Mandir. There will also be a crematorium in the temple premises, apart from which there will be space for different arrangements for other religious rites.
