New Delhi, June 27, 2020, Saturday
After the tension with China on the Ladakh front, the BJP and the Congress have been witnessing constant clashes.
Congress leader and former finance minister P Chidambaram has now responded to BJP's allegations that the Chinese embassy had donated to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, named after Congress leader and former PM Rajiv Gandhi.
P. Chidambaram said that BJP president JP Nadda is good at telling half-truths. Suppose China donated to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and even if it is returned, can PM Modi assure the country that China has usurped India? Will clear the land and maintain the previous condition.
"My colleague Randeep Surjewala has exposed the half-truths of JP Nadda. What should the donation received by the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation 15 years ago have to do with China's infiltration in 2020? Answer China's questions about.
Earlier, Congress spokesperson Surjewala, responding to BJP's allegations, said that the Chinese embassy had donated Rs 1.45 crore for the Foundation's project on the disabled as well as for a project on India-China relations. The Home Ministry was informed about the donation. It was also mentioned in the IT return. Secondly, the amount received by the foundation from the PM Relief Fund was used during the tsunami in Andaman and Nicobar.
Why is the BJP hiding the fact that the Rs 20 lakh received by the RGF from the PM National Relief Fund in 2005 was for tsunami relief work in Andaman and Nicobar? And for what purpose was each rupee spent?
