Decision taken at Defense Minister's meeting on Galvan controversy: We will give a scathing reply

New delhi date. 21 June 2020, Sunday

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh today convened a meeting on the dispute between India and China, which was attended by the three army chiefs as well as CDS Bipin Rawat. The meeting reviewed the land condition of Ladakh and examined the preparations on LAC. It was decided at the meeting that India would not promote tensions over the LAC but would retaliate if any other party did so. The meeting was held at the residence of the Defense Minister.

The CDS and the three army chiefs discussed the border situation and army preparations at the meeting. As announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the meeting asked the army to take action according to the ground conditions. Rajnath Singh had earlier held a meeting with the three army chiefs on the issue. Following the violent clash between Indian and Chinese troops in Ladakh, a meeting between Rajnath Singh, the three army chiefs and CDS Bipin Rawat on June 18 decided to keep the water, land and air forces on full alert.

The Indian military is keeping a close eye on the Chinese border, which is about 3,500 km long. The Indian Navy is also increasing its deployment in the Indian Ocean region to send a strong message to the Chinese Navy. Apart from that, the Army has already deployed additional contingents at all frontline locations at the Line of Actual Control in Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh. The Air Force has already raised alert levels to monitor LACs and border areas in all its forward line bases.

"We will defend our sovereignty at any cost," Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadoria said. "The security scenario in our region shows that our armed forces are ready and vigilant at all times," he added. We are ready to handle the situation as soon as we receive such a small instruction at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh.

Tensions between India and China are high and the Air Force is on high alert to deal with any situation. Air Force President RKS Bhadoria visited Leh Airbase late Wednesday night. The significance of his visit comes as the Air Force is currently on alert in the Leh-Ladakh region.
