In Maharashtra, 4,841 new cases of corona virus were reported on Thursday. According to the health department, 192 people have died in the state in the last 24 hours.
At the same time, the death toll from corona virus infection in the state has reached 6931. The health department said 1,47,741 crore cases have been registered in the state so far.
So, the number of active cases of corona in the state has reached 63,342. However, it was a bit of a relief to Maharashtra that 3661 people have recovered in the last 24 hours in the state.
The total number of patients who have recovered so far is 77,453. Coro's mortality rate in the state has reached 4.69 percent.
Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Thursday said the state government would conduct antigen tests which would give the results of the Covid-19 test in one hour instead of twenty-four hours. Tope told reporters that one lakh antigen detection devices would be made available in the state soon.
Purchase orders have been placed, he said. On the advance front, the investigation of essential service personnel, health personnel, police and others fighting against Covid-19 will be given priority.
The state government has also decided to test rapid antibodies whose devices are being supplied by a South Korean company. Tope said it would make it easier to know if a person was infected with the corona virus.
