Amid rising tensions between India and China on the border, it has come to light that Chinese hackers are planning to attack India. According to a report by cyber intelligence firm Cyfirma, Chinese hackers can attack various organizations in India, ranging from pharma to telecom, media and some government websites. Chinese hackers are moving forward with the goal of harming various sectors.

Kumar Ritesh, founder of Cyfirma, said, "Discussions between Chinese hacking groups and the community have escalated since the situation at the border last week. The researchers found that hacking groups in such communities were targeting Indian government websites, media, telecom companies, pharma companies, smartphones, construction and even tire companies.

Many big companies on the list

Ritesh said that this 'target list' of Indian companies resurfacing on the Dark Web also includes many big names. Apart from India's major media organizations, it also includes telecom companies Reliance Jio, Airtel and BSNL. Apart from that, pharmaceutical companies Cipla and Sun Pharmaceuticals are on target. Apart from Indian phone makers Micromax and Intex Technology, MRF and Apollo Tires are also on the list.

There are two hacking groups active

The hackers also want to make the websites of various ministries of the Indian government a prime target of such attacks. It is learned that two major Chinese hacker groups Gothic Panda and Stone Panda could carry out such attacks. Both groups are affiliated with the People's Liberation Army of China and are looking for a weak link to websites-platforms to harm them. Apart from that they can also run malice phishing campaigns.
