New delhi date. Thursday, June 25, 2020

June 25 is remembered in the history of the country for a controversial decision. In 1975, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared a crisis that would tarnish democracy. Today marks the 45th anniversary of this crisis.

One cannot forget June 25, 1975 in the history of Indian democracy. Because at that time, at the behest of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, President Farkhuddin Ali Ahmed declared a state of emergency. It has been 45 years since this was said but even today the BJP is always targeting the Congress on this issue.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah slammed the Congress. He tweeted that a family imposed a state of emergency in the country for the lure of power and the country was made a prison. The press, the courts, the speeches were banned by the government. The poor and dalits were persecuted in the country. The interests of one family were paramount than the interests of the country so that a crisis was imposed in the country. Such a tragic situation is still being witnessed in the Congress today.

A video from BJP was shared today. Entitled 'Black Chapter of Crisis Democracy of 25 June 1975'. At the same time, the BJP tweeted that the black act of the Congress and the saddest chapter of Indian democracy is June 25, 1975. And every word that opposes it is heartfelt salute.

The state of emergency lasted for 21 months
The state of emergency was declared at midnight on June 25, 1975. The state of emergency lasted for 21 months. Which is known as the darkest period in the history of Indian democracy. Indira Gandhi cleverly declared an emergency. Her appeal was allowed in the Supreme Court to overturn the Allahabad High Court's decision to cancel Indira Gandhi's election from the Rae Bareli constituency. Thus, Indira imposed the emergency only for her own personal gain and to save power.

When Indira Gandhi instructed President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed to declare a state of emergency in the country, she did not even consult her cabinet.
