Punishment of up to five years for spitting on Corona Warrior, announcement of Yogi government


New Delhi, May 6, 2020

The Yogi government has taken an important decision amid the ongoing Corona battle in the country.

UP has now enacted a new law for the safety of health workers as well as cleaners, security personnel and every Coro's Warrior, which has also been approved by the Cabinet.

Under the new law, anyone who attacks all types of Coro Warriors or misbehaves with them will be punished from 6 months to seven years. They will also be fined from Rs 10,000 to Rs 5 lakh.

At the same time, those who spit on Corona Warriors will be prosecuted. Those who provoke people against Corona Warriors will not be spared, which carries a penalty of two to five years and a fine of Rs 50,000 to Rs 2 lakh.

Those who violate the quarantine, run away from the hospital or misbehave with the staff in the hospital are punished with one to three years imprisonment and a fine of up to ten thousand rupees. Those who break the lockdown will also be severely punished.

If a person conceals information that they are Corona positive and travels using public transport on purpose, he or she could face up to one to three years in prison.
