New delhi date. 16 May 2020, Saturday

The Indian Navy's warship INS Jalashwa left the Maldives this morning for Kochi for the second time with 588 Indians. These 588 people also include 6 pregnant women. The reservoir will cover a distance of 700 km to Kochi in about 35 hours.

The reservoir was scheduled to leave the Maldives on Friday evening but could not do so due to bad weather and heavy rains. Indians trapped abroad in the Navy are being repatriated under Operation Sea Bridge. Earlier, 900 people were repatriated from INS reservoir and INS crocodile Maldives alone.

In the first phase of the sea bridge campaign amid the Corona virus lockdown, INS Jalashwa and INS Crocodile returned home on May 8 and 12 with 698 and 202 Indians, respectively. "INS has reached Malશ્વ, Maldives for the start of the second phase of Operation Sea Bridge," said the Indian Navy.

The Government of India has launched 'Vande Bharat Mission' and 'Operation Samudra Setu' to repatriate Indians stranded abroad.
