The Government of India will operate 64 flights from May 7 to May 13 to repatriate 14,800 Indians stranded abroad due to the lockdown.
The flights will be operated by Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express, although Aviation Minister Hardip Singh Puri himself has confirmed this.
Indians will be repatriated from 12 countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Britain, Singapore, USA, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Philippines, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Kuwait, and Oman.
Hardip Puri said the fixed fare would be Rs 50,000 from London to Mumbai, similarly from London to Ahmedabad, from London to Bengaluru, and from London to Delhi. Chicago, Delhi, Hyderabad will have to pay a fare of around Rs 1 lakh.
