Four lakh 'ghost soldiers' receiving pensions in Pakistan, shocks government

Islamabad, May 1, 2020, Friday

A revelation about the military in Pakistan fighting the Corona virus has put the government to sleep.

Because of Corona, the Post Department currently pays pensions to soldiers by going from house to house. As a result, it is known that there are four lakh veterans who are living only on paper and have been receiving pensions for years.

The post department has now ordered an inquiry after the ghost pensioners came out. According to media reports, pensions have been given to the soldiers since March. In which it was learned that the address of millions of soldiers could not be found.

Now a committee has been formed in this regard. After the blast, the process of going home and giving pension has been suspended. Now four lakh ex-servicemen will have to submit documents for pension.

In Pakistan, an estimated 9.41 lakh ex-servicemen are receiving pensions. However, the committee is finding out in the investigation that the records of the pensioners have been tampered with on a large scale. Their numbers are also not true and some names are bogus.
