Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi is no more. He died of a heart attack on Friday. He also had a heart attack on May 9, about three weeks ago.

He was later admitted to Narayana Hospital in Raipur. His condition has been critical ever since and he went into a coma about 17 days ago. He suffered another cardiac arrest on Wednesday night, after which his condition began to deteriorate.

A medical bulletin on Ajit Jogi's health has also been issued by Sunil Khemka, director of Narayan Hospital, stating that his condition was stable till May 27.

But the next day, on May 28, after 7 pm, his condition started deteriorating and around 11 pm, he had to face a heart attack again.

His blood pressure also fluctuated frequently. Seeing his serious condition he was kept on a ventilator. He died at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

After Ajit Jogi's death, his son Amit Jogi tweeted that his funeral would be held on Saturday in his native Gorilla.

Incumbent Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Badhel expressed grief over the demise of Ajit Jogi, calling his departure a great loss to state politics.

Former CM of the state and BJP leader Raman Singh also expressed grief over the demise of Ajit Jogi, saying that a political history of the state has come to an end with him.

Ajit Jogi has always been an important figure in the politics of Chhattisgarh. Discussions on state politics are considered incomplete without mentioning them. In November 2000, when Chhattisgarh seceded from Madhya Pradesh, it became a separate state.

Jogi then became the first Chief Minister of the state and with this his name was recorded in the pages of history. He was considered one of the brightest leaders in the Congress.

However, he later fell out with the Congress and formed his own party, the Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (Jogi).
